The Ocala Outdoor Adventure Camp offers summer staff positions to qualified individuals seeking a fun filled adventure teaching young men and women conservation and outdoor skills.  Aplications are available by calling the camp office or downloading from below.

Listed are several of the camp positions and a very brief description of their duties.

Counselor Positions:

The counselors are the backbone of the summer youth camp program and the success of the summer relies on the connselor interactions with the campers.  Their sole responsibility is the safety and welfare of the campers and to insure that the campers have a fun aand positive camping experience.  Counselors also assist with other related camp activities.

Instructor Positions:

The instructor positions are responsible for teaching their assigned topic to the campers.  The summer camp employ a Swimming, Canoeing, Fishing Wildlife & Ecology, Outdoor Skills, Archery, and Hunter Safety Instructors.  Each instructor will also assist with other camp activities.  Some of these positions require certifications in the related field.

Advanced Program Positions:

The Outdoor Adventure Camp employs six Advanced Program Instructors for Outfitters and Safari Groups.  These unique postions not only act as counselors to the older return campers, but are responsible for various program instruction as well.  They take their assigned group, The Safari Group", on hikes and primitive camping in the Ocala National Forest and canoeing down the Ocklawaha River.  Camping and outdoor experience is a must.

Kitchen Staff:

The camp hires four cooks that work in teams on one of two shifts.  They're responsible for preparing and serving the meals to campers and staff throughout the week.  These are the only positions that don't have a residential requirement.  Experience is a must.

Medical Coordinator:

The Outdoor Adventure Camp hires a Medical Coordinaator that takes care of all summer camp first aid needs.  This position is required to have a current EMT or higher certification.

Counselor In Training (CIT) Position:

The Counselor In Training "CIT" program is for teens interested in gaining a more in-depth, hands-on leadership experience with the camp.  The CIT is an invaluable staff member to the operation of each camper's week.. The CIT's assist with counselor's duties and responsibilities to insure a safe and smooth week.  This position recieves no pay,  but is a stepping stone to becoming a summer cammp staff.  individuals utilize this pposition in the efforts to acquire community service hours for various school and community requirements and projects.

All positions include a competitive salary, lodging for the summer and meals while at work.  Staff are requird to live at camp from Sunday afternoon till Friday evening for one staff training week and six camper weeks.  All staff will be off for the Jult 4th week...

All potential staff will undergo a mandatory criminal background check.
